Foster Care & Medical Decision-Making

Fosters are an essential and cherished part of our rescue family.
To protect the wellbeing of each cat:

• All medical care and treatment decisions are made in consultation with Oreo’s Haven and our veterinary partners.

• Cats in foster care remain under the legal and medical responsibility of Oreo’s Haven until adoption is finalized.

• Any signs of illness or injury must be reported promptly so appropriate care can be arranged.

These guidelines ensure consistent, safe, and timely medical treatment for every animal.

Adoption & Pre-Adoption Standards

Before adoption, we work carefully to ensure the best possible match for both the cat and the adopter.

Our process may include:

• Age-appropriate vaccinations and veterinary care

• Spay or neuter scheduling when medically appropriate

• Honest discussion of temperament, needs, and history

• Adoption agreements designed to protect the lifelong welfare of the cat

Our goal is forever homes, not rushed placements.

Privacy, Respect, and Online Conduct

Out of respect for animals, fosters, adopters, and community partners:

• Oreo’s Haven does not discuss private foster, medical, or adoption situations publicly.

• We remain committed to kindness and will not engage in public conflict or negative online exchanges.

• Any concerns are addressed privately, respectfully, and with the wellbeing of the animal as the priority.

We believe compassion should guide not only how we treat animals, but how we treat one another.

Transparency & Accountability
